Social work

The Department of Social Work was established in 2005 with the vision of addressing the dynamic needs of society and nurturing a generation of committed, compassionate, and skilled social work professionals.

The department is staffed by dedicated and experienced faculty members who not only teach but also mentor and inspire students to become effective change-makers. The curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world engagement, ensuring a holistic development of future social workers.

Hands-On Learning & Community Engagement:

To bridge classroom learning with societal needs, the department integrates:

  • Observation visits
  • Concurrent fieldwork training
  • Rural camps and outreach programs
  • Awareness campaigns
  • Guest lectures by professionals from NGOs, government organizations, and social institutions

Students are also enriched through:

  • Personality Development Programs (PDP)
  • Educational tours and study visits
  • Workshops and seminars on emerging social issues

Real-Time Social Exposure:

By engaging directly with communities, participating in field projects, and staying updated through social media and contemporary issues, students gain in-depth insight into the challenges and opportunities within the field of social work. This experiential learning model prepares them to serve effectively in various settings such as healthcare, education, community development, policy advocacy, and human rights.
